How to install Adobe Photoshop CS6 portable in Ubuntu Linux

In this tutorial, you don't need to install Adobe Photoshop using PlayOnLinux. Just install Adobe Photoshop using wine. This is the easy and shortest way to install Photoshop in Ubuntu Linux. Follow the tutorial below steps by steps

 

At first download the Photoshop CS6 portable software from online.

Open Terminal through the downloaded folder. This is a zipped file so type following commands-
    unrar e (file_name).rar

Now install wine using following command-
    sudo apt install wine

To confirm wine installed you can type this command-
    wine --version

Now extract the .exe file by typing-
    wine (file_name).exe

Install Photoshop now. You need to install it on C:\ drive otherwise it won't install. After completing installation, you can now use Adobe Photoshop CS6 in Ubuntu Linux.

Photoshop will run from Terminal window. So if you close the Terminal, Photoshop will shut down. So close Photoshop first then close the Terminal after saving your Photoshop work.

So next time if you want to run Photoshop, you can run it from Home C:\Photoshop (the location where you installed Photoshop). This is hidden file so first check mark Show Hidden Files.

Then go to home\.wine folder\drive_c\PhotoshopPortable for Linux

Now open Terminal and type-
    wine (file_name).exe

That's all.
