Open any object image file. For example I am opening a image of ball with transparent background (png format). File > Open > image.jpg - Open
Rename this image layer as Ball layer.
Click- Create a new layer. Rename it as Background layer.
Move down the Background layer under the Ball layer.
Select the Background layer. I will fill this layer background color as white. So be ensure that Foreground color is set as white color. So select Paint Bucket Tool then click on the background to apply white color.
Select the Ball layer.
Select Ellipse Tool. Go to Fill option at top left corner and select black color.
Create a round circle under the ball image. It will appear as Ellipse1 layer. Rename it as Shadow layer.
Move the Shadow layer under the Ball layer.
Select Shadow layer.
Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur > OK. A Gaussian Blur window box will appear.
Increase the Radius level i.e. Radius: 30 Pixels. Click OK.
At Shadow layer, decrease the Opacity level: 50%
Now it's all done.
